Get Live Updates From The Show Tonight!

We’ve set up a brand new feature here at Nekosite and we’re trying it tonight for the very first time! Neko and perhaps some other volunteers will be posting pictures live as things unfold. Expect some warm up pictures before the gig, live setlist report and hopefully an exclusive picture or two! We’re pretty excited about this since this is the first gig after some time and is therefor a start of a new era for the band after a lengthy Their Law: Singles tour. Expect things to kick off around midnight GMT time.

We need volunteers for Saturday’s gig in Birmingham - here is how you can help us:

If you are lucky enough and have gotten a ticket, then you can help us keep the rest of the fans up to date, real time!
We’re looking for a couple of people who are going to the shows with a camera phone that they can send emails from. If you are willing to take pictures at the shows and upload them to nekosite via email live during the gig, then please get in touch!
Please contact Ant (ant4000b@beatrocker.net) - He will give you instructions on how you can help us out provide some exciting updates to the rest of the fans.

The below is an official message that has been sent through from the band’s quarters about today’s ticket presale:

Dear Prodigy Fans,
As some of you may already know, due to massive demand, theprodigy.com and the ticketsellers suffered a nightmare of a server crash today when we attempted to provide you with links to buy tickets to two club shows. We are monumentally sorry this happened and hope that it hasn’t stopped anyone who wanted to buy tickets from buying them. We are taking steps to fix this for future promotions, but for now, we hope to see everyone at the shows who wanted to go. Both websites are now back online, but may be running slowly. If you are still having trouble with the link for Birmingham, alternatively call this number for tickets over the phone: 0844 870 0000.

Please, accept our apologies once again and thank you for your continued support.

Prodigy Announce Pre-sale For UK Club Shows

Those of you registered with the official mailing list of The Prodigy (you can register on on www.theprodigy.com) would have received some exciting news a couple of hours ago. If you’ve not yet checked your email, here’s your update on what’s going on:

The Prodigy will be playing two intimate club shows in the UK, leading up to their festival appearances this summer.

The shows are confirmed for:
Plug, Sheffield on May 16th 2008 (1,000 capacity)
Rainbow Warehouse, Birmingham on May 17th 2008 (800 capacity)

Now the best bit is that you can get advance tickets for both shows through the band’s official web site a whole 24 hours before anyone else can get them! They’ve made this available just for the fans only!

According to the band’s newsletter, tickets will go on sale on 15th April at midday, 12pm GMT.
To buy, visit the band’s official site on www.theprodigy.com.
You will see a news item with links to a secret page for each of the two venues selling the tickets. These links are not being made public until 16th April, giving you 24 hours to buy tickets before anyone else.

Better be quick!

New Prodigy Website Launched

Today the new Prodigy website got launched. Unlike the previous ones this one was built with content in mind. Site now features official Prodigy YouTube channel, Flickr photos, news feed, diary (calendar) and a blog. (more…)

Prodigy Confirm 3 More Festivals

The Prodigy have confirmed 3 more festival shows this summer:

They will perform at the Irish festival, Oxegen, in Punchestown on July 12th and then head to Japan where they will play at Summersonic in Tokyo August 9th and Osaka on August 10th. (more…)

The Prodigy Come Out Of Hiding

The Prodigy have just confirmed they will be headlining Saturday night at Gatecrasher’s Summer Sound System festival on May 24th.

The event will take place at Turweston Aerodrome, near Brackley, Northamptonshire over the long Bank Holiday weekend. That’s just 4 more months to go!

Prodigy Live In Romania This Year!

Yes, they’re alive! It’s been a bit quiet lately, but Prodigy are actually going to play a show on 30th December 2007 in Sibiu, Romania.

It’s a free show held in the town square in Sibiu as part of the celebrations, so if you’re in the area make sure you stop by!

“First Warning” Released on Smoking Aces O.S.T.

When nekosite interviewed Liam Howlett last summer [here], he mentioned for the first time that the track known as ‘Warning’ would be included in a soundtrack.

And indeed, “FIRST WARNING”, as it is now called, has just been released on the sound track to the Smokin Aces movie. It sounds dark, fast and sinister. Unlike the live show version it is an instrumental only.

Prodigy Have Got A New Label

First of all, happy new year! Yes, it’s been a bit quiet in neko quarters lately, but we’re all waiting for that new material…

Big news though - Prodigy have just announced that they are no longer with XL Recordings, and are instead back with their own Ragged Flag label, under the umbrella of UK Independent Cooking Vinyl.

Cooking Vinyl have released the following press release:

The Prodigy Enter long-term worldwide deal with new label

THE PRODIGY are back with their own new label, and this time they’re doing it their way. Always fiercely independent, the band have decided to set up their new label Ragged Flag, which will be the platform for their next album release and will subsequently act as an outlet for new talent that they find.

Backed by UK Independent label Cooking Vinyl, the deal will allow the band to continue to enjoy total creative control over all aspects of their music and how it is presented.
Prodigy founder member Liam Howlett commented : ‘”We have been planning this for a while and we are looking forward to building our label up, starting off with the release of the new Prodigy album. We have recorded a few songs already for this next album and they are sounding big and mean!”

“The Prodigy are one of the most relevant bands to today’s world,” said Cooking Vinyl’s Managing Director Martin Goldschmidt. “It is a real honour to be entrusted with handling affairs for Ragged Flag. This is a fantastic start to 2007, and it is the start of a new era for Cooking Vinyl.”

Says Cooking Vinyl’s Product Director Rob Collins, “We can’t wait to start getting music out there and show everybody just how great this band is.”

The Prodigy are currently in the studio working on the follow up to the number 1 albums “The Fat Of The Land”, “Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned” and “Their Law”.
